The South Florida Italian Culture & Heritage Festival will launch this fall, due to the efforts of two longtime Hollywood businesses. Anthony Paparella of Gino’s Market and Joe Bevelacqua of Cobra Joe Productions wanted to create a festival to highlight the best of Italian culture in South Florida and create an annual tradition in Hollywood. Paparella and Bevelacaqua wanted to hold the festival over the Columbus Day weekend to commemorate the Italian explorer who first discovered the New World. There will be a wide variety of activities throughout the day, including traditional Italian games, such as Bocce and vendors ranging from food to arts and jewelry. Nationally recognized performers will take the stage, including headliners The Mystics, who were recently inducted into the Doo Wop Hall of Fame. Proceeds will directly benefit Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH), one of region’s leading pediatric hospitals. JDCH will host a children’s fun area at the event.
