It all began in Clarksville, Arkansas, in 1938.  Today the Johnson County Peach Festival is the oldest festival in the State.  Come join us July 19 through July 22, 2017, for the Peach Festival, and July 13 for the Princess Elberta, Little Mister, Teeny, Tiny, Petite, Pre-Teen,Teen, Queen and Mrs. Peach pageants and July 15-16 for the Miss Arkansas Valley’s Outstanding Teen, Miss Arkansas Valley and Queen Elberta pageants.   Wednesday, July 19, opening ceremonies will be held at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Gospel Sing and Cinema on the Square.  Thursday, July 20, concessionaires bring their wares from good ol’ home cookin’ to handmade arts and crafts.  That morning there is a scavenger hunt scheduled, Johnson County Idol (ages 1-17) and a Teen Street Dance with DJ, KC Carrell.  Plan to stay all day Friday with events such as a diaper derby, helicopter tours, pocket car race, bicycle obstacle course, the Kids’ Zone (inflatables) and skateboard contest as well as a peach cobbler and jam and jelly bake-off and a peach pie eating contest.  Entertainment at 5:00 p.m., followed by the  Johnson County Idol (adult division) at 6:00 p.m.  A Street Dance featuring On The Verge will begin at 9:00 p.m.  The 4-mile run kicks off Saturday activities followed by various events including a fishing derby, cardboard boat regatta, greased pig chase, frog jump, terrapin derby, peach eating contest and Lip Sync contest.  The parade begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by entertainment and a Teen Street Dance.  On Sunday there will be a Horseshoe tournament.   Hope to see you there!!!!!
